On your first class
Tell the instructor
Let your instructor know before class that it’s your first time. They’ll watch for you and give you extra cues.
If you can’t keep up
That’s normal. Mark the moves (do smaller versions) and watch what others are doing. You’re learning a physical language — repetition is how it clicks.
If you came alone
Most students come alone. The studio vibe is welcoming — introduce yourself before class and you’ll likely find someone in the same boat.
If you’re running late
Slip in quietly, find a spot, and jump in when you can. Don’t stress about missing the warm-up — just do what you can and catch the main choreography.
From students who were nervous on day one
“Kezea — the most inspiring, strong, and encouraging dance teacher I’ve ever had. She introduced me to heels, made me feel confident, and created an experience for me like I’ve never had before. I’m so grateful for her classes and it is something I will never forget. Her classes created an army for me that I will always feel extremely connected to. Anyone would be lucky to get the opportunity to learn from this powerhouse.”
“I have long wanted to dance, and it was Kezea who became my first coach, and I can say with confidence that she is the best in her field, a dance psychologist, I am very glad that fate chose her to be my coach.”
“Kezea is an amazing teacher. She saw me struggling in her class and helped me one on one. She used her own time to give me the extra help I needed. She has always encouraged me telling me how much potential she sees in me as a dancer. She challenged me in every one of her dance classes and this helped me become a better and more confident heels dancer. I believe that everyone should try one of Kezea’s classes because it will help you develop more confidence and fierceness!”
